Albina Antonia Aleksandrova

Based in Paris, available worldwide for art direction, set design, theatre, film, photo and video production, illustration, murals.

At the center of my world is a deep love for theatricality, a way to scale up and down to understand the fractality of life, to practice empathy, to manipulate space and time by the means of a practical ritual. After a period of denial of the power of art, due to observing devastating events in the world, I was watching “Un jour, Pina a demandé” by Chantal Akerman, there was a line that truly resonated with my subconscious determination to see art as a vital necessity: “I became a dancer, because i didn’t want to be a soldier”. Artistic practice is a pacifist act and a way to fight violent heartlessness, indifference, and primal fear by creating and gathering. I search for ways to connect intuition with research, East with West, old with new. Preservation of craftsmanship and manual skills is one of my main core interests. I find pleasure in observing my own cyclical being aligning with nature’s patterns, while staying lighthearted by seeing the importance of play, being a “homo ludens”.
