At the center of my world is a deep love for theatricality, a way to scale up and down to understand the fractality of life, to practice empathy, to manipulate space and time by the means of a practical ritual. After a period of denial of the power of art, I watched “Un jour, Pina a demandé” by Chantal Akerman. There was a line that truly resonated with my subconscious determination to classify art as a vital necessity: “I became a dancer, because i didn’t want to be a soldier”. Artistic practice is a pacifist act and a way to fight violent heartlessness, indifference, and primal fear by creating and gathering. I search for ways to connect intuition with research, East with West, old with new. Preservation of craftsmanship and collecting antiques are some of my beloved interests. I find pleasure in observing, attempting to staying lighthearted, and remembering the importance of play, of being a “homo ludens”.
